How do I scan my ingredients?

Open the app, select the "Scan Items" feature, point your camera at the ingredients or items in your pantry, and capture the image. The AI will automatically identify the items and add them to your inventory.

How do I generate custom recipes?

Navigate to the Suggestions page to see recipes tailored specifically to the items currently in your pantry inventory. You can customize them based on dietary preferences (e.g. Asian, American, Indian) or calorie targets.

How can I delete my account?

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time. Go to Settings (gear icon in the navigation bar) and tap the Delete Account button. Confirm your deletion, and all your records will be instantly wiped from our database.

Can I skip registration?

Yes! You can choose to skip registration at startup to access core scanning and recipe suggestions as a guest.

At Snap2dish, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide a better, more personalized experience. This includes:

Account Registration Information: When you register an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. This is required to save your profile settings, synchronize your meal calendar, and back up your inventory database.
User-Generated Content: When you use the scanning feature, we process the images and photos you take of your ingredients. These photos are analyzed using AI to identify foods and generate recipes, and are not saved permanently on our servers unless you save the items in your local pantry log.
Profile Details: Information about your household size, daily calorie goals, cuisine preferences, and dietary restrictions to build personalized meal plans.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

To operate and maintain your personal pantry inventory and generate custom recipes.
To synchronize your meal calendar across multiple devices.
To send notifications regarding food expiration alerts and custom meal prep reminders.
To diagnose application bugs, monitor system performance, and enhance security.

3. Device Resources & Permissions

The app requests the following system permissions to work correctly:

Camera: Used solely to take photos of physical food items for AI scanning and identification.
Photo Library: Used to upload pre-captured food images from your camera roll.
Notifications: Used to deliver timely notifications about meal plans, reminder calendars, and expiration dates.
Location: Used to help locate grocery stores near you for shopping integration.

4. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You have the right to request deletion of your account and personal data at any time. Go to **Settings > Delete Account** in the app. Upon confirmation, all your profile logs, inventory records, and credentials are permanently purged from our databases within 24 hours.

5. Security & Third-Party Services

We employ secure encryption protocols (HTTPS/SSL) to protect data transmitted between the app and our database servers. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share information with trusted third-party service providers (like Firebase and Google Cloud APIs) strictly necessary to run the authentication and AI features of the application.
